# From daily rate to monthly recurring revenue
*Reading time : 4 min · Offer & Positioning · 2026-05-30*
**In short :** La validation d'offre est le processus le plus sous-estimé du consulting indépendant. La plupart des consultants passent des semaines, voire des mois, à peaufiner…

## How this article unfolds

1. Build a minimum viable offer in 48h — On day 1-2 you boil the program down to one promise, 5-7 steps and a beta price at 50-70% of your target rate.
2. Reach out to 10-20 targeted prospects — On day 3-4 you contact people already in your network, openly framing it as a beta test instead of a finished pitch.
3. Stress-test the promise on calls — On day 5-6 each 30-minute call first confirms the prospect's real pain before you present the solution and price.

Offer validation is the most underestimated process in independent consulting. Most consultants spend weeks, even months, perfecting their offer before proposing it to anyone. They wait for everything to be perfect — the website, sales page, resources, complete program. And when they finally launch, they discover the market doesn't respond as expected. All that work for nothing.

The truth is brutal but liberating: no offer is validated in your head. It's validated when someone pulls out their credit card. And you can get that validation in 7 days if you apply the right method. Not by sacrificing quality — but by trading perfection for real information.

## Day 1-2: Define the minimum viable offer

The minimum viable offer (MVO) is the simplest, most direct version of your program that can still deliver the promised result. It doesn't need a website, sophisticated sales page, or professional video resources. It needs three things: a clear promise, a defined delivery method, and a price.

To build your MVO in 48 hours:

- ✦ Formulate your main promise in one sentence: specific result + timeline + for whom
- ✦ List the 5 to 7 key steps of your method you'll work through with the client
- ✦ Define the delivery format: individual sessions, group calls, email, or a combination
- ✦ Set a beta launch price between 50% and 70% of your final target price
- ✦ Write a one-page document summarizing everything — that's your 'minimal sales page'

## Day 3-4: Identify and contact prospects

You don't need a large audience to validate an offer. You need 10 to 20 people who exactly match your ICP and could potentially benefit from your solution. These people exist in your current network — LinkedIn, former colleagues, niche contacts, engaged followers.

The contact approach for beta validation differs from standard prospecting:

- ✦ Be transparent about the beta status: 'I'm launching a new program and looking for 3 people to test it in preview at a preferential rate'
- ✦ Highlight the advantage for them: reduced rate, priority access, ability to influence the program
- ✦ Ask for a 30-minute call to explore their situation — not to sell directly
- ✦ Target people who've already expressed the problem you solve — these are your hottest prospects

> Beta validation isn't a humility approach — it's an intelligence strategy. You collect real data before massively investing in marketing.

## Day 5-6: Conduct validation calls

Validation calls have a dual objective: confirm that the problem you solve is real and painful for your prospect, and test the reception of your solution and price. These aren't aggressive sales calls — they're diagnostic conversations with a proposal at the end.

Validation call structure:

- ✦ 10 minutes: explore their current situation and main problems (active listening, no pitch)
- ✦ 5 minutes: validate your offer addresses these problems ('What I do is... does this resonate?')
- ✦ 5 minutes: present your beta offer and price
- ✦ 10 minutes: answer questions and objections with curiosity rather than defensiveness

## Day 7: Analyze and decide

After 7 days, you should have conducted at least 5 validation calls. Here are the indicators to analyze:

- ✦ Response rate to your outreach: indicator of message relevance and targeting quality
- ✦ Call conversion rate: if less than 20% buy, the problem is the price, the promise, or the targeting
- ✦ Recurring objections: the same objections systematically returning are signals of necessary reformulation
- ✦ Enthusiasm level on calls: even without a purchase, a very engaged prospect signals you're on the right track

In 7 days, you have real data. Not hypotheses, not assumptions — conversations with real people who have real problems. This information is worth far more than any theoretical market study. And if the offer doesn't convert, you've learned at near-zero cost. That's true agility for a high-performing independent consultant.
