# Life coach: posting and reaching out, but still no clients?
*Reading time : 4 min · Strategy · 2026-10-06*
**In short :** Tu publies, tu écris des messages, et personne ne s'inscrit ? Le trajet vers un oui a quatre maillons. Voici comment trouver celui qui lâche et le réparer.

## How this article unfolds

1. They recognise themselves — Your message names a specific life moment, so the reader thinks 'that's me' from the first line.
2. They take a first step — One simple door after every post: reply, ask a question, or join your free group.
3. You talk about their situation — You write to people who raised their hand and keep the conversation on what they're living.
4. You offer the call — As soon as they name their need in their own words, you suggest a short call to see if you can help.

If you post and reach out but no clients come, the problem is rarely your effort. It sits at one precise point on the path from first glance to decision: a message that is too broad, no clear next step, people who are still cold, or a conversation that never offers a call.

## Where does a life coach's client journey break?

A life coach's client journey is the path someone travels between discovering you and saying yes to working with you. It has four links: they recognise themselves in what you say, they take a first step towards you, you talk about their situation, and you offer them a call.

When nothing comes in, the instinct is to post more or send more messages. Both only feed the start of the path. **Posting more never fixes a link that breaks further down the journey.** You get tired, you start doubting yourself, and the broken link stays broken.

The real work is to find the link that gives way, and fix that one only.

## Does your message name a specific life moment?

First link: the person has to recognise themselves. Many life coaches write things like "I help you find yourself again". It is true, but nobody reads it and thinks "that's me".

Compare it with: "You've just left a job you held for years, and you no longer know who you are without it." Now a specific person stops scrolling.

**People choose a life coach when they recognise their own situation in the coach's words, not when they understand the method.** Your method matters on the call. Before that, what matters is the life moment you name: a breakup, an empty nest, a career change, coming out of burnout.

Quick test: reread your last post. Could someone say "this is exactly what I'm going through" from the first line? If not, you've found your weak link.

## What door opens after your content?

Second link: the first step. Someone moved by your post doesn't know what to do next. Without a door, they close the app and forget.

Give one door, always the same, and make it small: reply with one word, ask their question, join your free group. A low-effort door gets used. Asking for a booked call at first contact keeps the door shut.

Third link: who you message. Writing to strangers who never showed interest drains your energy. **A life coach's outreach starts with the people who have already raised their hand**: those who reacted, commented, replied or joined your group. Your message continues a conversation instead of forcing one open.

Fourth link: making the offer. Many conversations stay warm for days, you give free advice, then silence. The right moment comes when the person describes their situation in their own words and says it's on their mind right now. Then you offer: "Shall we talk it through on a short call, to see if I can help?" Offering isn't pushing. It gives them a clear next step.

## Which link should you fix first?

Look back over the last few weeks, without judging yourself, and follow this order:

- Nobody reacts to your posts: the message is the broken link. Name a specific life moment.

- People react but nobody writes to you: the door is missing. Add one simple invitation at the end of every post.

- People write, but conversations fade: you mention your offer too early, or you're talking to cold contacts. Go back to their situation.

- Conversations go well but no call is booked: you're not offering. Suggest the call as soon as they've named their need.

- Calls happen but nobody signs: the weak link is the discovery call itself, which is a separate job.

Fix one link at a time, for a few weeks, before moving on. That way you'll know what made the difference.

Posts and messages aren't wasted: they feed a journey that has to hold all the way through. When every link holds, enquiries arrive without you having to shout louder.

## Frequently asked questions

**Why don't I get clients as a life coach even though I post every day?**

Posting only feeds the start of the client journey. If your message doesn't name a specific life moment, if there's no simple next step after your post, or if your conversations never offer a call, posts don't turn into enquiries. You need to find the link that breaks and fix that one first.

**How can a life coach find first clients without cold outreach?**

A life coach finds first clients by writing first to people who have already raised their hand: those who reacted, commented, replied or joined a free group. The message continues a conversation that has already started instead of forcing one open, which takes less energy and puts less pressure on both sides.

**When should I offer a discovery call in a DM conversation?**

The right moment is when the person describes their situation in their own words and says it's on their mind right now. Before that is too early. After days of free advice is often too late. Offer a short call, simply, to see whether you can help them.

**What should a life coach's post say to attract clients?**

It should name a specific life moment the reader is going through: a breakup, a career change, an empty nest, coming out of burnout. People choose a life coach when they recognise their own situation in the coach's words, not when they understand the method. The method comes later, on the call.
