# Life coach: your client went silent after the call, now what?
*Reading time : 6 min · Sales · 2026-09-06*
**In short :** L'appel était bon, elle a dit « je reviens vers toi », puis plus rien. Ce que vit ta future cliente de coach de vie dans ce silence, et comment l'accompagner.

## How this article unfolds

1. Set a date before hanging up — She picks her answer day and names what might make her hesitate.
2. Same-day recap — Her words, your offer, the agreed date, and one resource that answers her fear.
3. Closed question on the day — Start or not now: permission to say no frees her to answer.
4. Kind closing message — A last note closes the loop without pressure and brings back the hesitant ones.

When a potential life coaching client goes quiet after a great call, she has rarely said no. She is alone with a very personal decision and no structure to make it. Your job is not to chase her. It is to give her a clear frame to decide, yes or no.

## Why your life coaching client disappears after a good call

The silence after a call is the time she spends deciding, alone, what she felt with you. On the call she talked about her breakup, her wish to change her life, things she tells no one. She felt understood. Then she hangs up and normal life rushes back: kids, work, and that inner voice saying *you don't need this, you'll manage on your own*.

Hiring a life coach is personal. Saying yes means admitting she needs help, sometimes talking to a partner, justifying spending money on herself. None of that gets settled ten minutes after the call. The problem is not your offer or your price. It is the gap: the decision was left open, with no date and no next step, and doubt fills the space.

## What to set up before you hang up

- **A date.** Ask: when would you like to give me your answer? Let her choose it. People keep the dates they pick.
- **The real hesitation.** Ask: what might make you hesitate between now and then? Money, a partner, fear of not following through. Now you know what to address.
- **Permission to come back.** Ask: if I don't hear from you, can I message you that day? Your next message is no longer a chase, it is an agreed check-in.

A life coach who sets the next step before hanging up almost never has to follow up blindly.

## What to send, and when

The same day, send a short written note. No brochure. Three things: what she told you she wants to change, in her words; what you are offering; the date she chose. If she named a fear, add one resource that answers it, such as a testimonial from a client who had the same worry. Just one.

On the agreed day, if she hasn't replied, ask a closed question: have you had time to think it over? Would you like to start, or is now not the right time? A closed question gives her permission to say no, which is exactly what frees her to answer.

If there is still nothing a few days later, close the loop kindly: I don't want to crowd you, I'll assume now isn't the moment, and my door stays open. That message often brings back the people who were genuinely torn.

## How to tell hesitation from a real no

Hesitation asks questions: about schedules, payment plans, missed sessions. A real no goes quiet or stays vague. Questions are good news, because she is already picturing herself working with you. Answer fast and bring her back to her original reason. If she stays vague after your last message, let her go. Someone who isn't ready today may be ready in a few months, and she will remember the coach who didn't pressure her.

## Your follow-up is part of your coaching

Your follow-up is the first proof of how you coach: present, clear, respectful. If you want a full method, from the call to the yes, without chasing into the void, [book a call](https://call.bizzyconsulting.agency/).
## Frequently asked questions

**What should a life coach do when a client goes silent after a discovery call?**

Send a short note the same day with her own words, your offer and the answer date she chose. On that day, ask a closed question: start now, or not the right time. If she stays silent, close the loop kindly and leave the door open for later.

**How many times should a life coach follow up with a prospect?**

Two messages after your recap are enough: a closed question on the agreed date, then a kind closing message a few days later. Beyond that you are pushing on a personal decision, and she will remember a pushy coach rather than a present one.

**Why do coaching prospects ghost after a good call?**

Because the decision happens alone, after the call, against everyday doubts: money, a partner's opinion, fear of not following through. Without a date and a next step set during the call, that doubt takes over and the answer keeps getting postponed.
